MEDICAL EDUCATION

After a successful run, at the 2012 London games, winning Canada’s first Olympic team summer medal since 1936 Melissa took an unconventional athletic approach, but a real-life post soccer career decision, by going to earn her Doctorate chiropractic medical degree which she received in the summer of 2014 at Logan College of Chiropractic in St Louis, Missouri.  Additionally, Melissa earned a Masters in Sports Science and Rehabilitation.

With degrees in hand, Melissa moved to Chicago and began her National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) career.  At the same time to become board certified in Canada and the United States, she was splitting her time with the Chicago Red Stars and having a medical internship in the Chicagoland area to accrue hours needed to become licensed.

By the end of the summer of 2014, Melissa had passed her board exams in both nations and added a new tip of the cap to her resume, Dr Melissa Tancredi.
